Ottawa: The Metaverse – More Than Just a Game!
December 6, 2022 (5:30 PM - 8:00 PM) (EST)
Description
The Metaverse – more than just a game!
The CIO Association of Canada Ottawa Chapter focuses on today’s challenges and emerging trends that affect how senior government officials and corporate executives make decisions, lead programs and operations and plan for the near future.
The metaverse is a recent but transformative technological development, still in early stages, but that is meaningful and directly relevant to government and private industry. The metaverse is more than virtual reality games and funny headsets... it is already being experimented with in defence, security, agriculture, the healthcare sector, emergency preparedness, education, finance, and many other activity sectors.
The metaverse is about creating a universal digital platform that goes beyond playing games with avatars. It will fundamentally change how business, governments and private citizens interact.
Every private company, federal department and agency will soon be called upon to review policies and regulations to seize upon the opportunities offered by the metaverse, but also guard against its potential pitfalls.
Join us as we learn more from industry experts. Refreshments and snacks will be served.
