Virtual - Securing the AI-Powered Workforce from the Device Up: Inside the Race to Secure the AI PC

October 27, 2026 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Most cybersecurity talks tell you what to fear. This one tells you what it actually takes to build a device that can be trusted. Lenovo's ThinkShield product team shares the choices behind securing the world's largest PC fleet: the trade-offs between locking a machine down and letting people work, the features customers asked for versus the ones that stopped breaches, and what changes now that AI runs on the laptop itself. It's a candid look at where security really begins, before the device ever reaches your team, and why the smartest protection is often the one you never have to think about.

Discussion points:

  • Why the most important protections are chosen at the factory.
  • How tighter controls pushed users to work around them, and how we redesigned.
  • Giving AI the keys to the device without losing the ability to take them back.
  • Governing an AI that works for your employees but reports to no one.
