The CIOCAN Toronto Chapter Network Hour is a monthly peer discussion where technology leaders come together to share experiences, compare approaches, and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping our organizations. These sessions are designed to be interactive, practical, and vendor-free, allowing members to learn directly from one another.
Given the events of the past week, it would be difficult to talk about anything other than AI.
Anthropic’s latest announcements have sent shockwaves through the technology sector, rattling AI and tech stocks and reigniting a much bigger discussion about just how quickly the capabilities and economics of AI are changing.
For CIOs and technology leaders, the interesting question isn’t what happened to the stock market. The interesting question is what does it mean for us?
Are we reaching a point where AI can genuinely replace significant portions of traditional software and knowledge work? Does this change how we should think about SaaS investments, development teams and technology roadmaps? Are organizations moving quickly enough? Or are we at risk of moving too quickly based on capabilities that are still evolving?
And perhaps most importantly: what has changed in your own thinking about AI over the past year?
Join us for an informal, interactive discussion with fellow CIOCAN members as we unpack the week’s news and talk about what it means for our organizations, our teams and the role of the CIO.
As a Toronto Chapter member, you should receive an invitation email to this virtual event. If you have not received the invitation and would like to attend, please contact CIOCAN.Toronto.Chapter@ciocan.ca.
