Manitoba Chapter: AI in Cybersecurity
February 26, 2026 (6:00 PM - 8:30 PM) (CST)
Description
Cybersecurity is a fast-changing, complex field that constantly challenges practitioners to learn. Recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have accelerated this evolution, reshaping the battle between attackers and defenders. While AI awareness is growing, gaps remain—56% of respondents in a 2025 survey didn’t know which AI types their cybersecurity tools use, and many still overestimate generative AI’s role in defense.
This presentation will cover:
- Common ML techniques in cybersecurity
- How they work in practice
- Their advantages and limitations
- Key questions to ask vendors to build understanding and trust
