The blueprint advisory sessions are structured to encourage frank discussion from CIOCAN members with a view to creating a white paper. The sessions will be run under Chatham House Rules meaning no individual or company will be identified in the resulting paper. Sessions will be recorded solely for the purpose of creating the white paper and will subsequently be destroyed.
Registrants will be sent a set of questions in advance of the session to review to facilitate preparation of their opinions, observations and best practices. Active participation will result in the best product. Sessions are 60 minutes in length and will be led by a CIOCAN member.
Both sessions will cover the same questions, so please register for one date only. Registration is limited to a group of no more than 18 to allow for active debate, so we ask that one representative per company register.
Competitors are asked to refrain from registering.
Data is growing at an exponential rate and our new work-from-home reality is adding to the pile with asynchronous messages, video calls and information scattered across multiple collaborative platforms. This data is a source of risk if it's not properly understood, securely managed and trusted.
In fact, every single piece of information a company generates needs to be properly understood, securely managed and trusted. Otherwise it is the lost maintenance documentation that can compromise employee safety, the unrecorded transaction that can cost a company millions in litigation, valuable personal information uncovered in a cyberattack that leads to regulatory fines.
It can also be a source of incredible opportunity if properly leveraged. The world's five biggest companies appreciate the value of complete information understanding and have business models based on data.
Organizations need to have an ongoing process that drives data understanding across all their information. Every single file, database entry, message, piece of documentation, and completed transaction in the organization needs to be understood in the face of changing legislation, evolving digital threats and new opportunities.
Companies need to start rethinking data.
