Fireside Discussion: Three Years of Enterprise AI

Three years into the generative AI wave, the gap between vendor narratives and the realities of deploying AI inside an enterprise has never been wider. CIOs and IT leaders are asking the same questions: what actually works, where did we get burned, and what would we do differently?

Stephane Lacasse will share an unvarnished account of Devolutions' AI journey over the past three years - the wins, the missteps and the lessons learned. Devolutions is a Quebec-based software vendor building productivity and security tools for IT professionals (Remote Desktop Manager, Devolutions Server, Devolutions PAM and the surrounding ecosystem).

The discussion will cover:

  • Building an AI strategy inside an IT software company: where to start.
  • Use cases that delivered value, and the ones that quietly died.
  • Internal adoption, governance, and the cultural shifts required.
  • Tooling, model selection, and the build-versus-buy decisions.

About the Speaker

Stephane Lacasse is AI Lead and Principal Solutions Architect at Devolutions, where he drives the company's AI strategy and integration across operations and products. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Quebec, Devolutions serves close to 800,000 users across more than 140 countries, building a suite of tools for IT professionals including Remote Desktop Manager, Devolutions Server, Devolutions PAM and Devolutions Gateway. His career spans more than two decades in solutions architecture, digital transformation and manufacturing systems, with prior roles as Senior Digital Product Owner and Senior IT Manager at Hexion, and Process Systems Manager at Momentive. He completed an executive program at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2018. At Devolutions, he has led several applied AI initiatives, including an internal upskilling program in partnership with Mindstone aimed at equipping the entire workforce with practical generative AI skills.

Discussion fireside : trois ans d'IA en entreprise

Trois ans après le début de la vague de l'IA générative, l'écart entre les discours des fournisseurs et la réalité du déploiement de l'IA en entreprise n'a jamais été aussi grand. Les DPI et les leaders en TI se posent tous les mêmes questions : qu'est-ce qui fonctionne vraiment, où nous sommes-nous brûlés et que ferions-nous différemment?

Stéphane Lacasse partagera un compte rendu sans fard du parcours de Devolutions en matière d'IA au cours des trois dernières années – les réussites, les faux pas et les leçons apprises. Devolutions est un éditeur de logiciels québécois qui conçoit des outils de productivité et de sécurité pour les professionnels des TI (Remote Desktop Manager, Devolutions Server, Devolutions PAM et l'écosystème qui les entoure).

La discussion abordera :

Stéphane Lacasse est responsable IA et architecte de solutions principal chez Devolutions, où il pilote la stratégie d'IA de l'entreprise et son intégration à travers les opérations et les produits. Sa carrière s'étend sur plus de deux décennies en architecture de solutions, transformation numérique et systèmes manufacturiers, avec des rôles antérieurs de Senior Digital Product Owner et Senior IT Manager chez Hexion, ainsi que Process Systems Manager chez Momentive.
